FDA Approves Orilissa For Endometriosisby wochit 26 July 2018![]() The U.S. Food & Drug Administration has approved a new pain medication for use in the treatment of endometriosis, a common gynecologic disorder. According to UPI, the biopharmaceutical company Abbvie, announced Tuesday the FDA has approved Elagolix as the brand name Orilissa. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Endometriosis affects approximately 1 in 10 women of reproductive age, causing 30 percent to 40 percent of women with the condition to become infertile. The drug is expected to cost about $850 per month.
